Sorry for the impromptu hiatus! I was sick two weeks ago and had to poopoo real bad last week so I skipped out. But hey, ya know, now I'm better and also know where the bathroom key is so we're back in business!
This week, I showed off my DEFINITIVE LIST OF THE BEST SONGS OF 2017. It's around the middle of the show. But because I love you so much, I'll also present it right here:
Top 5 Songs Of 2017
So there ya have it. A bunch of old favorites coming around again with really great new tracks. That actually reminds me, my ex girlfriend who lives in Vancouver lives like right down the block from Dan Bejar aka Destroyer. Weird, huh? Apparently, he sits on his porch and looks pensive all the time. Anyway, here's Tinseltown Swimming in Blood.
I really liked most of Everything Now, the new album by Arcade Fire, and the song Creature Comfort stands out as one of those songs that's just going to stick around till they stop touring.
How Do You Sleep is a dark, funky 9 minute dance epic from LCD Soundsystem that's somehow exactly what I like dance music for, while at the same time being the only song that sounds the way it does. If there was a genre of "songs that sound almost exactly like 'How Do You Sleep' by LCD Soundsystem," it would probably be my favorite genre, but it's just the one song. I guess "Dance Yrself Clean" is kind of in the same vein as this one. So that's two songs. Whatever, I love it.
Saturnz Barz is what I listen to Gorillaz for. It's a rad song and I'm not even gonna talk about it because it's so good. Just watch this. It's so fun and good.
And then finally we've got Ran by Future Islands, which is a perfect song that's maybe the pinnacle of everything Future Islands has ever done. And the music video is nice too.
I'm getting brief and choppy now in my writing because I'm losing steam, but that's my countdown and if anyone disagrees with it I'm calling the police on them.
See you next time!
